How do I become a seller?
Register to become a consignor on this site (you can click HERE to register now online), or call Faith at 479-420-9699 and register over the phone.
If I was registered to consign at a prior sale, do I have to register again?
Yes, you must register for each sale you wish to consign in, but you will login and register under the same consignor number you previously received. You will consign under the same number for all future sales. If you have consigned in the past, then choose "RETURNING Consignor" after you click to register, and log in with your consignor number and password (you can click HERE to do that now). From there you will see an option to register for the upcoming sale. If you cannot remember your consignor number or password, click on the "Forgot Your Consignor Number or Password?" option under the login boxes. If the system cannot locate your information for you, contact Faith at Faith@GrowingKidsSale.com or 479-420-9699.
When do I drop off my things?
Consignors make an appointment on their Consignor Homepage to drop-off their items. Please refer to the actual sale schedule found on the Upcoming Sale page for actual drop-off times for the upcoming sale. Please allow enough time in your schedule at drop-off to have your items checked in and to place them in their appropriate locations on the sales floor. Consignors who didn't make an appointment or missed their appointment can come whenever they can during the drop-off hours, and we will work them in as quickly as possible. For more detailed information on the Check-in / Drop-off process, please refer to our drop-off page.
Can someone else drop-off my items for me?
Anyone can drop-off your items. Please make sure they know your consignor number and have your signed Recall Waiver when they come. They will be responsible for helping to place your items on the sales floor, as well as returning any items to you that Growing Kids chose not to accept. If they are dropping off for more than one consignor, make sure they know to separate the consignor numbers as they bring the items inside to assist us with checking item limits for each number. Also, make sure they know that the Presale armband they will receive when they check-in is IMPORTANT! You MUST have this armband to get into the Presale. There is a fee for replacement of lost armbands!
:-)
Will you take all my items?
Regarding Types of Items: Please see the What to Bring page for further information. Regarding Quantity: Each consignor may bring the amount of hanging clothing items that will squeeze into 3 feet of hanging space. Maternity is limited to 15 items per consignor. All other items (toys, baby items, equipment, etc) are not limited.
Regarding Quality: We will be screening items very closely as to maintain the quality of the sale. Please don't be offended if we ask you to take back some of your items. It is often easy to miss a spot or a tear when you are getting your items ready at home. We want to be known for having the best quality merchandise. Many of our consignors are also our biggest shoppers and we want you to have confidence that you are buying the best at the Growing Kids Sale.
Regarding Seasonality: We also check to make sure items brought to the sale are for the appropriate season.
Can I have a second consignor number?
Yes! You may wish to sign-up for a 2nd consignor number in order to increase the amount of items you may bring (since our limit is 3 feet of hanging clothing), or to keep your earnings separated on different items for whatever reason. To keep things organized and efficient, we ask that you use your own name on both accounts (not your husband's or a child's). For the system to accept your 2nd registration, you must spell something differently in your address (example, abbreviate "Street" to St.), and you must have a different e-mail address on that account. If you have any trouble with this, please feel free to call us (see number above), and we can set-up your 2nd number over the phone. Note that item limits ARE checked at drop-offs, and you must stay within the limits PER consignor number (you cannot have two numbers registered, but consign everything under only one of the numbers).
Can I pick-up my unsold items?
Consignors have the option of picking up their unsold items if they wish, but only items that the consignor has marked with a red circled "R" for "Return" in the top left corner of the item's tag will be available for pick-up. Unsold items without this mark will automatically be donated to charity. Any items you do not pick-up by the end of the pick-up time, regardless of the "Return" mark, will be donated as well. Please refer to our Dates, Times, Location page for the exact times of consignor pick-up for the upcoming sale.
How do I attend the Consignor's Presale?
If you have registered to consign clothing in the sale, you will be issued a Presale Armband when you drop-off your items, which will allow you to shop in the Consignor's Presale. Only one armband will be given per consignor number checked in. You MUST wear your armband when you come to shop at the Consignor Presale. There is a fee for replacement of lost armbands. More on who can shop with you can be found below.
What if I lose my Presale armband pass?
All consignors & teammates must present their armband to enter their early shopping time. In the event an armband is lost, the consignor/teammate may obtain a replacement pass by paying a $25 cash or card fee. Contact Kim at Kim@GrowingKidsSale.com or 479-769-1020.
If I cannot attend the Presale, may I give my armband to someone else?
Absolutely! You earned it, and it is yours to do whatever you'd like with. If you cannot attend the Presale, feel free to give your armband to anyone who could benefit from it!
Who can I bring to Team Night & the Consignor Presale?
We know it can be helpful to have someone with you to help you shop. At the same time, it is important that we keep it fair to those who have earned the right to shop at the Presale by not allowing those who haven't earned it. Our Shopper Policy for both the Team Night and Consignor Presale is as follows:
Spouse, grandparents AND/OR children under 18 may shop with consignor on one pass. No sisters, friends, aunts, etc. NO EXCEPTIONS! Please only bring children if absolutely necessary. Children under 12 must remain with a parent AT ALL TIMES.
If it is important for you to have a sister, aunt, etc. shop with you, you can consider consigning 15 items under a separate number for them, which will yield them a Consignor Presale pass, and they will also be eligible to participate as a teammate to get a Team Night pass!
What if I lose my consignor check? Can I get it re-issued?
If you lose your consignor check within 90 days of the check date, we will issue a replacement check, but we must deduct $22 to cover bank fees we are charged for cancelling your original check. Checks over 90 days old cannot be re-issued.
Where is the best place to buy hangers?
We've found that the cheapest source of children's hangers are those found in the baby section at Wal-mart, which come in a pack of 10 for $1. Note that they are only stocked in the BABY area, usually near the safety gates and baby monitors. They come in varying colors. You may find that stores will run low on these near sale time, so buy ahead of time! We recommend using child-sized hangers for clothing sized 4 and smaller. If you need adult-sized hangers (for sizes 4 and larger), you can usually get some used wire hangers for FREE from dry cleaners or posts on Craigslist. You might even ask cashiers at places like Wal-mart for unwanted hangers left at check-out.
Will I get my hangers back?
Since we do not remove hangers at check-out, hangers from your sold items will not be returned to you, but keep in mind that you will be given the hangers from the items you purchase at the sale, as well as hangers from your unsold items.
How should I price my items?
PRICE TO SELL! For detailed pricing tips, see our Pricing Items page.
How do I make my tags?
See our Tagging Items page for all the details on how to prepare your tags.
Can I participate in the sale if my tags do not have barcodes?
No. To maximize the efficiency of the barcoding system, all tags MUST have barcodes. A barcoding station is available at drop-off to let you print any last-minute barcodes that you may need.
What is the best way to go about printing my barcodes and applying them to my tags?
We have a step-by-step suggestion that is simple and efficient! Visit our Print Barcodes page to read all about it!
How can I shop BEFORE the public?
Every consignor is given the opportunity to shop before the public by attending the Consignor Presale. If you want to be absolutely one of the first to shop the sale, then you need to join Team GKS and sign up as a teammate. Teammates are given the opportunity to shop during Team Night, which takes place a full day before the Consignor Presale. Refer to our Team GKS page for more details.
I am a first-time mother without any items to consign. Is there a way for me to shop before the public?
Welcome to motherhood! The Growing Kids Sale is a great resource for new moms to affordably supply their nurseries with all the newborn essentials. We do not have a designated first-time moms shopping time. Only our teammates and consignors shop before the public. Here are some options we recommend to first-time moms: 1) If you have a friend who consigns, you could ask if they would loan you 15 items to consign under your name. You could give them the proceeds, and then as a consignor, you get to shop before the public. 2) You could pick up a few cheap items from a garage sale, and easily make your money back consigning them, which would earn you a Consignor Presale pass. We hope you can come!
How can I pay for items I buy at Growing Kids?
We encourage you to bring cash to shop, but we can also accept credit cards for a 2% fee if you prefer. No checks.
Will dressing rooms be available?
No dressing rooms will be available, so you may consider bringing a tape measure and your child's measurements with you.
Will shopping baskets be available?
We will have large shopping bags available for you to borrow while you shop, but you may want to consider bringing your own bag or basket in which you can easily carry home your purchases.
What is a Growing Kids Sale teammate?
The more time a consignor invests into aiding the sale of their items through helping with the event, the higher earnings percentage they keep on their sold items! Consignors who help with the sale are called "Teammates". Teammates are also invited to shop the sale before everyone else during Team Night. Being a part of the team is completely optional.
How do I attend Team Night?
All teammates must participate as a consignor, and when you drop-off your items, you will be given a Team Night armband pass, which will allow you to enter Team Night. Only one armband will be given per consignor number checked in. You MUST wear your armband when you come to shop Team Night. Strict penalties including fees will be enforced in the case of a lost armband that needs replacement.
How can I get a "Line Pass" to be first to enter Team Night?
Teammates who help with two 4-hour shifts, with one of those shifts being a designated "Sorting Shift", earn the opportunity to get a Line Pass. A $30 CASH deposit is required at drop-offs to receive your pass, and the deposit is FULLY refunded to the teammate at the end of their completed sorting shift.
What if I lose my armband pass?
All consignors & teammates must present their armband to enter their early shopping time. In the event an armband is lost, the consignor/teammate may obtain a replacement pass by paying a $25 cash or card fee. Contact Kim at Kim@GrowingKidsSale.com or 479-769-1020.
If I fulfill my team shift but cannot attend Team Night, may I give my armband to someone else?
Absolutely! You earned it, and it is yours to do whatever you'd like with it. If you cannot attend Team Night, feel free to give your armband to anyone who could benefit from it!
Who can I bring to Team Night & the Consignor Preview Party?
I currently have a nursing baby who won't take a bottle. Can I still be a teammate?
If you have a nursing baby you cannot leave at home, we want you to be able to participate too! For safety reasons, teammates may NOT bring children under the age of 12 with them to shifts, but we CAN allow teammates to bring children/babies that can be “worn” in an infant carrier during the entire shift! They may only be brought to one of our designated “Baby-Wearing Shifts” (see schedule online). If all those shifts are full, please contact us directly and we’ll see if we can work something out for you!
I am pregnant and my doctor has ordered me to be less-active. Is there a shift that will accommodate me?
If you need a less-active shift, please sign-up for one of our designated “Sitting Shifts”(see schedule online). If all those shifts are full, please contact us directly and we’ll see if we can work something out for you!
My child loves to help and would like to come with me to my shift. Is that okay?
Children must be 12 years or older to accompany a shift with their parent, and they will be required to stay with the parent at all times. No children under 12 may accompany a teammate (with the exception of babies who are "worn" during a designated "Baby-Wearing" shift). We appreciate your understanding!
I missed my shift at a past sale. How can I be a teammate again?
Consignors who have not fulfilled a shift in the past and were placed on the Prohibited Teammate List may be reinstated as a potential teammate by paying a $30 deposit, then choosing a shift at the upcoming sale (only 1 shift...not eligible for 2 shifts), and fulfilling that shift. The deposit will be fully refunded at the completion of that shift. This deposit helps us verify the consignor's sincerity and dependability to be a teammate once again. If the consignor does not fulfill that shift, their $30 is forfeited and cannot be used toward eligibility for a position at a future event. This deposit helps us verify that the consignor is dependable and trustworthy to hold a coveted team position again.
